Contractors State License Board Closing its Test Centers Statewide in Response to COVID-19 Health Emergency

Closure of eight test centers takes effect immediately

SACRAMENTO - The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) is announcing that all eight of its test centers throughout California will close, effective tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2020. The closure will last through April 16, 2020.

The decision was made in response to the COVID-19 health emergency and to ensure the safety of test candidates and staff.

The test centers are in Berkeley, Fresno, Norwalk, Oxnard, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, and San Jose.

Candidates can reschedule their exams via email at: exams@cslb.ca.gov. They can also reschedule by phone at: (916) 255-3498. Due to expected high call volume, CSLB recommends using email for a faster reply.

The exam rescheduling fee is being waived for cancelled exams.

Through the health emergency, CSLB remains committed to its mission of consumer protection through the licensing and regulation of California's construction industry.

Most CSLB staff remain on-duty, either at its Sacramento headquarters or offices throughout the state, or through teleworking. CSLB's focus is to remain accessible while continuing to provide our essential services.

You can find the latest status of CSLB services online at: www.cslb.ca.gov and through its various social media channels.
